SERVICES

Comprehensive Eye

Examinations
At Avalon Vision Centre we pride ourselves in performing a thorough eye examination. Each comprehensive eye exam includes an eyeglasses prescription, retinal photos, as well as an examination of eye health. Routine eye exams can detect eye diseases such as glaucoma and macular degeneration, as well as some systemic diseases such as diabetes.

Infant and Children's

Eye Exams

Vision is crucial for learning, and children are often unaware if they are seeing correctly. At Avalon Vision Centre we perform thorough eye exams that not only assess visual acuity, but also eye movement and focusing issues that can interfere with learning. The Canadian Association of Optometrists recommends a child’s first eye exam to be between 6 and 9 months.

Contact Lens Exams

At Avalon Vision Centre we fit and prescribe many types of contact lenses. Whether you are interested in daily disposable, multifocal or specialty scleral lenses our team is here to help.

Myopia Control

Myopia Control is a proactive way of treating nearsightedness in children.  Special glasses, contact lenses or eyedrops are prescribed, which can slow down the development of nearsightedness and the associated ocular complications.

Ortho-k

Ortho-K or orthokeratology involves wearing a specialty contact lens at night while you sleep to temporarily reshape the cornea to improve vision. This reshaping gives clear vision during the day without the need to wear glasses or daytime contact lenses. This type of lens is great for patients who are not interested in refractive surgery (LASIK) but want the freedom to see without correction.

Optical

At Avalon Vision Center, we want you to look as good as you can see! We give one on one assistance in selecting the perfect frame and carry a wide range of frames for any style and budget.
